Authentic Craftsmanship

We meticulously hand-craft each log, ensuring a perfect fit and a timeless aesthetic that honors traditional building methods.

If you are looking for a unique design and architecture using age old techniques, our crew is trained for the task.

We work outside in our own structures that keeps us connected to nature, even in the winter months

Sustainable Materials

We prioritize using locally sourced, high-quality timber, ensuring your structure is not only beautiful but also environmentally responsible.

We Harvest On Our Territories and our main species are Red and White Pine harvested on Christian Island and in the surrounding territories

Once we mill our material, it is aired dried and covered from the sun, rain and snow.

Personalized Design

Your vision guides us. We collaborate closely with you to design a log home that perfectly suits your lifestyle and aesthetic.

Once you decide on the style of log, and the type of structure, we ask you to provide a hand-drawn copy with measurements and then we create a digital version using Sketchup Designer.

Updates

marketing 2026

Along with the new marketing tools that we are using from video to new digital tools, we are also updating our business plan and have taken a course offered by Ogemawahj Tribal Council in February. The new and update version of our business plan include some major updates for 2026 and the years to come as we develop our business.

We are submitting to Federal and Provincial agencies to help support the new positions we are creating for marketing and the development of our training in partnership with Norwood Sawmills.

Our marketing started with attending the Little NHL in March and it proved to be a valuable and exciting experience for us to meet many our people from First Nations all across Ontario. This marketing connected us to communities who have a high interest in what we have to offer and we will be working with a few communities this summer.

tool upgrades

In our search for better tools and equipment to improve our productivty, this year we are adding an F450 Truck with a Dump Box to help us move our tools and products and to attend to our work, a Log Trailer to help us harvest and a unique cutting tool that will help us cutting our Tenons. We had also purchased a planer that will help us finish our timbers before they are stained. We look forward to our new tools that will help us create projects a lot faster so that delivery times can be improved.

We are working with Alex Brown to research and develop some CNC technology and find ways to improve our production. This is an exciting venture as well.

I am pretty excited about the delivery of our new Norwood Sawmill, this will be all hydraulic, automated and electric.

timber frame shop

My brother Hubert Monague has always been supportive of the work that our crew done, and in March he hired us to do 3 projects for him. A custom shop for his wood-carving and 2 front porches.

AMPERE

Ampere has been a strong supporter in the development of our company since our start in 2024.

The programs and wage subsidies helped to lauch our first project with a young trainees from the community with a training program specifically for harvesting and wood manufacturing.

AMPERE provides focused supports for small businesses that need to train their new employees and provides the additional support and training online with their vast library of supports.

This year, AMPERE supported the delivery of a pre-employment program that assisted 12 particpants from the community to participate in an engaging 5 week pre-employment program that helped them to create a path towards employment and self-employment. The participants were amazed by the additional supports provided through AMPERE.

Our partnership and collaboration will help bring new opportunities to our communities for small business and participants that need the guidance to develop their path to employment or self-employment.

Norwood sawmills

An essential part of our work is cutting and preparing our own timber with precision and efficiency. That’s why we partner with industry leaders like Norwood Sawmills .

This spring, we began working with First Nations communities in the Sioux Lookout region, helping them bring their sawmills to life.

Many of these mills had been sitting unused—by the end of the training, participants were cutting their first logs and producing their own lumber.

The excitement was immediate. What started as raw logs quickly became neatly stacked boards—and with it came ideas, confidence, and a vision for what could be built within their own communities.

That moment is what drives this partnership forward. Together, we are building a program that goes beyond training—helping communities turn their natural resources into skills, opportunity, and long-term economic strength.

Upplands Energy Inc.

Under the direction of Dave Bowen, our connection started with a simple conversation about the importance lighting our structures, they should be seen during the day and looking amazing at night as well.

Having light available in your structures makes them usable during the day and at night, and also illuminates these important structures as a creative part of your community.

This year, we offer lighting as a part of the package to enhance the completion of your project, these lighting packages can be connected to the electrical supply close by or powered by solar if the building is far from an electrical supply.

The lighting packages can be simple illumination or colored illumination on the outside to the building creating a glorious effect on the structure, this not only shows the importance of the structure, but the pride of the structure at night time.

For more details on the light models and packages, see our page on Lighting.
